Skybus, the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group’s airline, has announced a substantial expansion of its services at Cornwall Airport Newquay for the Summer 2025 season.
This development will significantly increase capacity and connectivity for travel to and from the Isles of Scilly, benefiting both residents and visitors.
Resumption of Isle of Scilly Flights
The seasonal route between Cornwall Airport Newquay and St Mary’s Airport will resume operations on Monday, March 31st. A key enhancement to the service will be the increase in flight frequency.
Commencing May 12th, the current schedule of three weekly flights will transition to a twice-daily service. Operating from Monday to Saturday, it will offer both morning and afternoon departures.
Further augmenting capacity, a third daily flight will be introduced on July 1st. This will be operating at lunchtime from Monday to Saturday.
This strategic expansion represents a substantial increase in passenger capacity, with Skybus projecting a seven-fold rise in passenger numbers via Newquay during the Summer 2025 season.

Operational Considerations
The short-hop flights between Newquay and St Mary’s are of 30-minutes duration. They will continue to be operated by Skybus’ fleet of four 17-seat DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft.
Existing services, including up to nine daily flights between Land’s End and the Isles of Scilly, and up to three daily flights to and from Exeter, will continue to operate. A dedicated shuttle bus service will provide transfers between St Mary’s Airport and various locations on the island. This also includes the harbour for inter-island boat transfers.
